Film Screening - Jeepney
On July 30, 2015 with generous support of the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM), DOJ Pan Asia and DOJ's Justice Management Division (JMD) hosted a screening of the award winning documentary film, “JEEPNEY". Immediately following a discussion of the film was led by Jason Tengco, Deputy Director of the White House Initiative for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (WHIAPPI).
About the film:
JEEPNEY visualizes the richly diverse culture of the Philippines through its most popular form of mass transportation: vividly decorated ex-WWII military jeeps. Adorned with eccentrically customized designs and always splashed in bright colors, the jeepney is iconic in Philippine culture.
